What to do when doubt & anxiety creep in...

how to surrender 🦋

Dear alchemist,

Happy Tuesday! 🫂💖

On every single YouTube video I post, I get multiple comments saying the timing is insane. Sometimes there will be a comment saying that the timing is so accurate that it’s creepy.

I believe that synchronicity and strange (yet beautiful) miracles like that start to happen when we act on our first instinct and leave little gaps between idea and action. My first instinct today is telling me to write about doubt and anxiety. So, hit Reply and let me know if this was “crazy timing” for you. 🧚‍♀️

What to do when doubt and anxiety arise: a step-by-step guide! 🌀

1. Don’t put pressure on yourself to immediately make it go away.

If you’re receiving this letter, I KNOW for a fact that you think very critically and intentionally about yourself and your life choices. You likely have a lot of self-awareness and drive for self-improvement.

But when it comes to emotional experiences, please please please don’t put pressure on yourself. It doesn’t work like that. We can never force away negative emotions; we can only feel them and move through them with love and care.

We also can’t fully let go of what we don’t fully face.

Picture this: your best friend, or someone who you love deeply, is going through a hard time. It’s super easy for you to see the light and awesomeness that they are. But! You also see that they just need to feel these feelings, because they deserve to have a space held for them, without needing to be “perfect”. You can very easily see that them feeling these very human emotions doesn’t mean that they’re doing something wrong.

In the face of doubt, anxiety, and discomfort, it’s super important to hold that same space and self-compassion with yourself.

2. Don’t turn a temporary feeling into a permanent story.

In the manifestation community, there is often this idea that we need to stay “high vibrational” all the time.

Let me tell you that spiritual bypassing and fearing and avoiding certain thoughts and emotions is not “high vibe.” What IS “high vibe” is surrendering and accepting whatever thoughts and emotions arise in your consciousness, because you remind yourself that they are just passing clouds. And you are the sky.

It is all temporary, all passing, and ALL we have is this present moment. So can we be fully aware, fully present, fully accepting of THIS current moment, no matter how it shows up?

As you continue to do this, your thoughts and emotions become less serious. They have less of an effect on you because you are starting to lose your attachment to stories created by the mind. This is what this work is.

This work is the practice of reminding ourselves that we are not our thoughts; our thoughts are often compulsive and untrue, and that we can create whatever we want! If you want to explore more and have weekly practices to help you detach from mental stories and align with your highest self, you should join the Expansion Circle. It starts on August 15th.

AND, in the present is where all of your power is, because the most powerful version of you is the most present version of you. Not the version of you that is living in stories created by the mind.

3. Alchemize it.

This is the Alchemy Club newsletter, after all.

If doubt, fear, or mental stories ever get too loud, that may be an indicator to get out of the mind and into the body.

Here’s a quick list of some of my favorite emotional alchemy practices:

  • Overthinking? → Journal it ALL out, without filtering yourself and with no shame.

  • Angry? → Take some deep, belly breaths, and then MOVE your body. Lift some weights, go for a run, dance in your bedroom.

  • Fearful? → Breathwork. Wim Hof and Breathe With Sandy are two of my favs.

  • Wanting clarity? → Take action. Let yourself be messy and imperfect for the next 30 days.

There is a fine line between processing your emotions with care, BUT not letting yourself get too caught up in mental stories. Remember, you are the creator here!

💌 Hit Reply and let me know what you’re currently working on, and what you thought of this week’s letter (and if it was for you!!) 💌

I’ll see you next week 💕

All the best now and always,
