hot take: you already ARE your highest self.
how to close the gap today 💫
Dear alchemist,
The only thing separating you from your highest self is the thought that you are separate.
You’ll notice that if you don’t immediately believe or react to that thought… There is a wide-open present moment available to you.
Today, we are talking about how to bridge the gap between you and your highest self… and the kicker is that you don’t have to do anything to make this shift feel very real. Everything external requires an internal shift first.
1. Your highest self is already who you are, underneath the fear and societal programming.
Personally, I’m not a huge fan of calling this version of you your “highest self.” It implies unattainability or separation.
I prefer TRUE Self. Your “highest self” is just who you already are at your core.
From a very young age, we were all taught the emotions of fear and shame.
If left unchecked and unconscious, these emotions can keep you stuck in a mental cage, blocking you from doing the things you actually want to do.
This is why I believe your highest self isn’t something you become by doing MORE, but rather, it is a process of unlearning and doing LESS.
Think of all of the thoughts or behaviors that were conditioned onto you using shame or fear, like:
filtering yourself, and trying to blend in or stay small
thinking thoughts like, “I can’t…”, “This is unrealistic”, or “I have to…”
ignoring your intuition about someone or something and being proven right
people pleasing
inner doubt or criticism
Think about the result of each one of these thoughts and behaviors: they keep you feeling small, tense, or anxious.
That is how you know. That is the somatic signal telling you that it’s a result of conditioning rather than actually being yours.

What are some of my conditioned thoughts and beliefs?
Where did that come from? Whose voice is that?
What would my highest self (aka, your TRUE self) do instead?
2. You become this version of you automatically by choosing to, in this current moment.
Last Sunday was the final day of the 21-day alignment challenge (you can still register late here!), and I received dozens of direct messages and group chat messages from participants who experienced massive changes.
This was because they were being conscious of what thoughts actually came from their true selves, and which thoughts were just coming from old programming.
One of the questions I received from an incredible student was this: How can I actually believe that I am becoming my highest self? Sometimes, it doesn’t feel real. It feels too far away.
Here’s the thing: if a plane makes just a 1-degree turn, over time, it will end up in a completely different location than it would have otherwise.
If the body starts to feel a little dysregulated, come back to your one-degree turn. Find your True Self, your safety, in this current moment. How can you introduce that version of you throughout your day?
That’s all you need to focus on. It’s funny how the mind sometimes tells us we need to know all the answers and figure out the timeline, when in reality, it’s not our business to know the timeline.
All we have promised is this CURRENT moment, this one day ahead. If you take micro-actions to align with your True Self, your highest self becomes inevitable.
