My healthy brain routine that cured my low energy & anxiety (3 steps)

Happy Sunday!! 🥳 How will you reset today?

Today’s letter is filled with all of the reminders that younger me (constantly battling depressive and anxious cycles) really needed.

I hope you enjoy! Hit Reply and tell me if it resonated with you💌

Step 1: Caring for Your Temple

Movement & Diet

Caring for your temple is the foundation of the rest of life. Depression hates a moving target. So move, move, move.

I exercise daily by incorporating long walking breaks and a quick yoga flow right when I wake up. I also do heavy weightlifting when I go to the gym.

When I notice I’m in a state of mind where my thoughts feel heavy (when thoughts lead to more thinking, you’re going the wrong way… worrying pretends to be necessary), I go for a run and try to sweat.

When your body is inactive, your mind can deal with that excess energy by overthinking. Regular exercise is necessary for a great mind and life. I’m not sure you can get around it.

Inner child work

Taking care of your temple also involves being present and caring for your thoughts and emotions when they arise. What resists persists, so you must be willing to sit with uncomfortable emotions to grow past them and alchemize them into joy.

I had looped over a narcissistic breakup and delayed my healing for almost 2 years since I kept pushing down negative emotions rather than sit with them. These emotions were just my inner child trying to communicate with me and feel seen. They are nothing to be scared of.

Your feelings of shame, fear, and scarcity are not yours. Even though they may feel very strong in the moment, they are a wound from a young version of you. Meaning you need to be present with them when they arise.

Step 2: Energetic Hygiene

Your energy field is just as real as your physical body. It absorbs and holds onto things. Learning to protect it changed everything for me, since, again: much of the thoughts and emotions that you experience are not yours.

That’s why immediately believing your thoughts and feeding them keeps you stuck. Instead, sit with them and let them flow through like energy. That’s all it is. Energy.

Visualization Techniques

I use visualization techniques ALL. THE. TIME. Your brain does not know the difference between a thought and an actual event happening to you, so intentional visualization is extremely powerful. Here’s one you can try:

Start your day by visualizing a golden light surrounding your body. This light represents divine protection peace, and your childlike wonder. When you interact with draining people or enter stressful spaces, imagine that light staying strong around you. Imagine it absorbing all of the stressful energy and turning it into more light.

Cord-cutting rituals

I often do cord-cutting rituals where I picture the energetic cords connecting me to others (or even beliefs and ideas). I feel where they are connected on my body, feel if there is any tightness, and then… cut it the fuck off! 🤭

Sometimes random people that I never consciously think about pop into my mind while I’m doing it, too, which is always a really interesting experience. That’s how I know it’s time to clear their energy or whatever they represent to me, too.

Step 3: Creating a New Reality

…. also known as the lovely quantum leap.

The past does not exist. The only thing that exists is the now, or this exact present moment. Even when you remember the past, it can only arise in the now.

Your brain is a master at recognizing patterns. If you keep replaying old memories or identifying with past pain, your nervous system will keep reliving that and keep you stuck in that identity. To create a new reality, you have to teach your brain and body that the past no longer exists.

Every time an old thought or emotion arises, pause and say, “This is the old energy.” Then shift your focus toward what you actually want to feel or experience instead. This takes a lot of discipline and repetition. I would know. But it can be done.

Feel how you would feel once you get everything you’ve ever wanted, and become the person you’ve always wanted to be.

You need to put yourself in the FEELING state of your desires and ACT from that place. Acting out of a place of fear, scarcity, and past hurts will only bring you MORE of that. You must change the internal to change the external.

I love you all so, so much. Have a wonderful Sunday!
