Let’s talk about how to change so violently quickly and get such intense clarity on whatever situation you're in. Eeeeeeee, let’s get excited.

You already have a higher version of you that exists. They pull you towards certain desires, choices, and habits. They are the voice in your head that reassures you (no matter how rare, to those who are currently in the thick of it).

They give you the thoughts and choices that make your body feel relaxed and inspired. They don’t feed limiting beliefs or triggers. They always know the right move and are ALWAYS available to you.

….so how do you get to know them better and learn from them?

You take them out on a date.

Take your higher self on a date.

I decided to do this because I found myself making too many decisions out of fear and urgency rather than in a calm, aligned place last week.

And this is something I wish more people understood: the emotion you make your decisions from creates more of that same emotion.

Action is the strongest spell you can cast on your brain. Notice how people automatically complain, get triggered, seek validation, or repeat the same patterns without thinking consciously…? The opposite is also true. It’s possible to recognize what you are grateful for, what is beautiful, and think about all the ways something can go right.

We are just a set of programs. We are experts at being the same people we were yesterday.

SO! That’s why intentionally sitting down with your higher self is extremely powerful. It interrupts the autopilot.

Here’s exactly how to get the most out of this date.

Step 1: Set an exact time and location.

The most important meetings you will ever attend are meetings with yourself.

You are the only one who knows how to show up for yourself best, what lights you up, and what you need to move through your pain. SO! Set an intentional date.

I rented a room in a massage studio to recharge and do this (check if any local places near you do this— for me, it was only $25). Some other ideas I had were:

  • Take yourself out for coffee

  • Go out to a restaurant alone

  • Drive out to a beautiful spot in nature

  • Clean your room nicely, light candles, and do it there

Step 2: Prepare your questions.

Be as specific as you like.

Here are all the questions that I asked:

  • What’s your secret to success?

  • What do you remember about 2026?

  • What advice can you give me for this upcoming year?

  • I currently feel blocked in _________. Any thoughts?

  • What does a typical day in your life feel like?

  • What do you ask of me to become you?

Some others that I considered:

  • What does your daily routine look like?

  • What are you most proud of right now?

  • How do you show up for yourself when you are triggered? (!!!! this !!!!)

  • What motivates you?

  • What are your most important daily habits or rituals?

  • What are your boundaries, and what don’t you tolerate?

  • How do you manage discomfort or doubt?

Step 3: KNOW HOW TO LISTEN.

This is what I did:

  • I sat in a meditative pose.

  • I took a few slow, deep belly breaths to relax my body.

  • After a few minutes, when I felt ready, I said out loud, “I call in my higher self now.”

Your process may look different depending on what feels right to you. Once your higher self is in the building (!!!!), you can begin asking your questions. I had a journal open and ready to write down her responses as they came.

For me, when I asked my questions out loud, her responses were usually the first answer that came to mind. Most of them came in very clear, and I immediately knew that was the answer.

That said!!! Discernment is key to this process! If an answer makes your body feel tense or feels like it might be rooted in fear, doubt, or urgency, pause.

Your higher self does not speak that language. Some of these answers may stretch what your current self thinks is possible, so that is just your past programming trying to protect you.

If this happens, return to your higher self by doing more deep belly breaths. If it’s not the first answer you get, it’s the answer that makes you feel expansive, energizing, light, joyful, excited, or all the above.

Step 4: Read your responses every single day.

The noise of the world can make us forget the clarity and peace that lives within us.

You can access your higher self at any moment if you connect with your breath and ask.

We all need to develop the skill of acting from a higher place and not out of our triggers or fear conditioning.

I already have a personalized audio recording I made to help program my brain that I listen to first thing when I wake up in the morning. This month, I plan to also read my higher self’s responses every single morning when I wake up.

You can do this at any time, but your brain is most highly programmable in the mornings right after you wake up, and in the evenings right before you go to bed.

AND!! If you’re worried you won’t be consistent, you need to make it unavoidable. As James Clear of Atomic Habits puts it beautifully:

I journal every night because I keep my journal and pen on my bed. I’ve done it so many times that it feels wrong to sleep without journaling.

So, keep your responses somewhere where you will see them.

Tape them on your mirror, or keep it bookmarked on your pillow.
