How to stop letting fear run your life

3 steps to free your brain 💌

Happy Friday, alchemist!

To all the new folks here on this journey of inner exploration and intentionally creating their reality: hello!! Welcome!

💌 Hit Reply and tell me who you are and what you’re currently working on!! I read every response. :)

Today we’re talking about the loud voice that can sometimes yell over the gentle nudges of your soul’s purpose: fear.

Sometimes we fear our thoughts and don’t want to get triggered by them anymore. We fear how others perceive us. We fear taking the action that we know we should take, because what lies ahead is uncertain. But! The block comes when you see fear at face value and stop there, rather than seeing past it… so here's your 3-step guide to help you with this! 🥳

PS - the 15-day challenge, the Dream Self Blueprint, starts in 2 DAYS!! 🦋 The price will rise after it starts. So, if you’re looking for the daily structure to release fear and old patterns and take inspired action towards the person you dream of being (and want the accountability to do so), sign up here.

Step 1: First, we must surrender. Fear is part of the process.

On this side of the internet, we believe that if a thought causes more tension and more rumination, you’re going the wrong way.

Humans are not meant to be stuck in rumination and mental stories. But that doesn’t mean we don’t surrender to our emotional experiences!

We are meant to create, stay present, and handle hardship as it comes in the moment. Unfortunately, many systems make us forget this power. But the moment you see fear for what it is, you take your power back: it’s just a passing wave of energy moving through you. Emotions are all objective energy in motion. Where do you feel it? What are the physical sensations present? How can you be gentle with it?

When a thought causes fear and tension in the body, it means some part of it is not fully true, at the deepest level.

Try it yourself: Think about thoughts that cause tension and fear for you. What is the interpretation the analytical mind is creating here? Is it fully true?

What is the analytical mind making this thought or situation mean about itself? What if you could take a step back and just sit with these physical sensations, feeling them fully, without feeding any thoughts or mental stories?

Step 2: Cutting out the noise.

AFTER you allowed yourself to feel and give your emotions the space they need (and maybe you need to go back to letting yourself feel many times! There’s no shame here!), it’s time to set energetic boundaries with your mental stories.

The human brain is a powerful BEAST (in a good way) once you give it a goal to focus on. It will start filtering all of reality through the lens of that goal.

But sometimes, when our focus gets a little murky (and this is part of the cyclical nature of being human), we need to consciously bring ourselves OUT of mental stories and back into our power.

I like to call this “cutting out the noise”: Remind yourself of your vision, your purpose, and the many ways you were put on this earth to help others. Does feeding and believing this fearful mental story help that mission? Or does it hinder it?

And this is where it gets easier to label it: … oh, okay, no. This likely doesn’t help my soul’s purpose… It’s probably just noise or an old pattern running. And it can still feel real, but by learning to acknowledge it fully and redirect it over time, I can trade it for a belief that my mind AND soul believe in.

Step 3: Use your co-creative powers to redirect.

This is the beautiful art of guiding your thoughts to be in alignment with your true nature.

We can’t control our thoughts, and we can’t control our emotions. Our brains are sponges to all different kinds of frequencies and experiences, so it honestly doesn’t matter what appears, but it does matter if you feel it, label it, and tap into your co-creative mode!

🧚‍♀️📝 Now, let’s get creative here!!

Introducing… the art of redirecting: a mini breakdown!!

  • Connect with the version of you that has moved through this fear. They don’t think about this anymore. They’ve felt it, surrendered, and are on the other side, having grown with confidence and inspiration.

  • Recall the questions in steps 1 and 2.

  • What would this version of you, so unapologetically in alignment with your soul’s purpose, say to your analytical mind’s interpretations? Whatever makes you feel the most free, the most at ease, and unshackles you from any mental story- THAT is it!! That is your soul’s Truth.

  • Write out this interpretation. Remind yourself of it often. The next time the mental story and fear arise, feel it and sit with it (like the illustration in step 1), and gently remind yourself of this new interpretation.

  • Then, return to the breath. Drop your shoulders and breathe more deeply. Return to what you are perceiving in this present moment, this sensory experience.

I love you all so much!! I’m so overjoyed and inspired to be on this journey with you all.
